Dr Rees will speak on “Moses the Man: Interrogating Masculinity in the Character of Moses”

Anthony Rees is Lecturer in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible at United Theological College. Anthony has taught Old Testament in a number of colleges in Australia and at Pacific Theological College in Fiji. He was also a research fellow of the University’s Centre for Public and Contextual Theology during 2014.  Anthony’s interests are in how the bible continues to operate as a conversation partner in contemporary issues, which is reflected in his recent writings about immigration discourse, sovereignty, and ecological concerns, matters which will continue to be foregrounded in his work. Alongside those concerns, Anthony is also beginning to explore the intersection of biblical interpretation and music, and is developing ideas around a response to the biblical witness(es) regarding mixed-race marriage.
